Local Govt Elections: Anambra Assembly Confirms ANSIEC Members, Upholds Soludo’s Promise for Effective Delivery
The Anambra State Assembly has taken a significant step towards the upcoming Local Government Elections by confirming the Chairman and Members of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC).
This confirmation took place during a plenary session, following a letter presented to the House by Governor Charles Soludo on July 31, 2024.
The newly confirmed members of the Commission include Magistrate Chinelo Osakwe as the Chairman, along with Mrs. Beneden Obande, Barr. Cyril Igbokwe, Sir Chinedu Nnaluo, Mrs. Helen Ifeyinwa, and Mr. Emeka Okeke as members.
Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, addressed the members, emphasizing that the Assembly is committed to enabling the Governor to fulfill his promise of conducting Local Government Elections for Ndi Anambra.
On his part, Rt. Hon. Udeze congratulated the ANSIEC members and reminded them of the high expectations from the people of Anambra.
Magistrate Osakwe, in her vote of thanks, assured that the team would work diligently in the interest of the State.
This move by the Anambra State Assembly not only underscores Governor Soludo’s commitment to enhancing democratic governance at the Local level but also highlights the political resolve to ensure transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
